It’s Fromage Friday and today I am 25!
Let’s make some love to Black Goat
Here I am entering the second quarter of my life and there are five things that I’m most proud of:
Making amazing friends
Earning the love of this man
Making my documentary on German Drag Queens
Raising a wonderful cat named Chandler Bing
Devoting my life to worshiping cheesus with this blog
This is what I have to show for my first 25 years of life on this planet. I’m proud of myself. I’m celebrating with Black Goat. As much as I love my crunchy goudas, funky washed-rinds, and creamy blue cheeses, my heart beats fastest for ash-ripened goat cheeses. I think it’s because I relate to them best: we’re both pale and look great in black.
We’re not even halfway through 2015, and I’ve already bought all the cheeses Prairie Fruits Farm makes at least once. They’re all incredible, but I think black goat is my favorite. It smells like fresh, dewey farm grass and the paste is elastic and silky, with a clean savor and a mineral-driven finish like a good sauvignon blanc. Pair it with a floral honey and a rosé from the Loire Valley. Go ahead, get a little crazy. It’s Friday, the weather is beautiful, and you’re alive! Just celebrate and live a little.
Even when the going is tough, cheese is always there for me. All I want is to be there for the cheese.
I love you, cheese.
Let’s maneuver this wonderful obstacle course called life, just you and me.
