There are so many cheesy gift guides circling the internet right now but they’re mostly filled with kitschy knick knacks rather than the useful tools a cheese lover really needs. I mean, this hot cheese gun is amazing, but it’s not necessary. The season of giving is a chance to give the people you love what they need to get the most out of their cheese experiences. Now’s the time to fulfill the cheesy needs of all your loved ones with this essential cheese lover’s gift guide.

Happy holiday shopping!
It’s the season of gifting – are you freaking out yet? I’m not, because every year I give my family and friends the same thing: a cheese gift basket filled with a wedge, jam to pair, some crackers, and perhaps a beverage too. It’s my favorite thing to give because it provides my loved ones with an experience they normally would never get for themselves. AND you give them a gift template they can recreate for someone else!
Now that’s a gift that keeps on giving.
Whether you’re pregnant, cutting down, or just don’t partake, you can still enjoy beverage and cheese pairings without alcohol. Some juices are just as complex and delicious as a fine wine, like those of Owen + Alchemy, my favorite in Chicago. I’m in love with their sexy apothecary aesthetic and cold-pressed juices made with ingredients that are truly farm-to-table. Each juice and kombucha is as delicious as it is nutritious and their packaging is really sexy. I chose a couple of their products to pair with the sensual goat cheeses from Cypress Grove in California.
Go ahead and indulge, it’ll be good for you.
Is there anything sexier than a fig? We’ve been seduced by their juicy flesh since Eve gave into temptation in Eden. Fresh, dried, or jammed, they pair with almost anything, from salty blues to creamy bries. Just a few scattered onto a simple cheese board brings it all together.
Which is why I got so excited when Vero Kherian of MissCheesemonger.com, one of my favorite food blogs, invited me to a digital party with California figs.
All I had to do was come up with two pairings. How easy is that?
But I’m not one for being easy – I’m one for getting drunk.
So I made two boozy pairings
to get this fig party started.
Last weekend, I went to New York City to attend The Cheesemonger Invitational. I packed in as much food, drank, and culture as physically possible during my three days in town. I even got to see some of the pride parade! ✔️
Here is a quick recap of the my foodie adventure in NYC!
Back in January at the Cheesemongers Invitational in San Francisco, I met Red Table Meats, a charcuterie company from Minnesota – and damn, they left quite an impression. Their table was overflowing with at least eight varieties of beautiful hams and salamis; as I slowly shimmied down the table, sampling each style, I moaned with ecstasy.
“Where are you from?” I asked.
And thus, like a moth to a flame, I was pulled to Mill City….
