Berries n’ Cheese, Please
Summer berries are just about at peak season and my favorite way of eating them is with a little cheese.
Together they make for a healthy, delicious, and easy meal that you can enjoy any time of the day from breakfast to dessert.
Look to balance the flavors of the fruit with the cheese: try tart fruits with rich cheeses and sweet fruits with salty cheeses.
Here are four plating ideas you can enjoy with summer berries, but do experiment on your own!
Raspberries + Goat Cheese + Chocolate Wafer Cookies
Sweet cherries + Alpine-Style + Effie’s Oatcakes
Golden Raspberries + Aged Goat Cheese + Creamed Honey
Golden raspberries are sweeter than their ruby red brothers and pair better with more nuanced and delicate cheese like this Trivium, an elegant goat cheddar with notes of caramel. Try pairing them with Midnight Moon or Ossau Iraty.
Blueberries + Buttery Blue + Effie’s Corncakes
A visually stunning pairing, the sweet berries are also a wonderful counterpoint to a salty, buttery blue cheese like this Terre des Volcans Bleu Cheese. Enjoy with Blue d’Auvergne or Gorgonzola Dolce.
Please note: all Effie’s Homemade products were sent to me complimentary for use in content creation. I highly recommend these biscuits and standby their quality. All cheeses were sent to me by Peterson Cheese, bless their sweet hearts and souls.
